All this is really important to get signed. The watershed goes directly to the big lake. The land in question is on the side of a hill, there is no way this is going to be a Recycle Center; maybe a transfer station at best. See the attached map; it shows the route the water will take to the Big Lake. Everyone from the Board should try to go to the meeting on February 25. As you likely know based on a prior email from Robin and me, Bill Howser has filed an Application with the Morgan County Board of Zoning Appeals seeking a special exception to our zoning law. Mr. Howser wants to use a property near our homes, churches, woods, ponds and farms as a recycling center and excavating business. A copy of the Application is attached.
This property is located on State Road 252 approximately ¼ of a mile from O’Neal’s Salvage on the same side of the highway. See the attached map. An “X” identifies the property. The Board of Zoning Appeals is scheduled to consider this Application on February 25, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. The hearing will take place at the Morgan County Administration Building located at 180 South Main Street in Martinsville, Indiana in the lower level conference room. We are opposed to any business or person using property in our neighborhood for recycling, salvage and other industrial operations such as this. We encourage you to support our efforts by attending the hearing and signing a PETITION opposing the Application. Even if you intend to go to the hearing, please sign the petition. You will be sent a separate email from “DocuSign System” with a link to sign the petition. The signed petition will be submitted to the Board at the hearing. Be sure to click the “Finish” button after you have electronically signed the petition. If you have any questions about the petition, please feel free to call me at 317-507-0977. If you know of another person who might be interested in signing the petition, please send me their email so I can send them the petition. Thank you. Chuck and Robin
