Spring means hunting those delicious Indiana mushrooms to many, and we hope you find some. HOWEVER, trespassing on other members lots without permission, or telling a relative they can hunt when you are not with them is not permissible.
When security questions a mushroom hunter, the hunter often says ‘oh my uncle, sister, school friend, co worker, lives out here and said it was OK’ It is not OK It’s trespassing! How would you like a perfect stranger or three roaming around your yard? Please keep this in mind and if you want to allow someone to mushroom hunt, you must be with them and make sure you are on your own property or common Painted Hills property. Painted Hills Security would like for you to be aware the school bus begins its rounds in Painted Hills next week.
If the bus is stopped, has flashing lights in operation or has the stop arm out, motorists are required to stop in either direction on the roadway. Both local security and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department will be following the bus to assure that students who ride, are safe, as they enter and leave the bus. Secondly, it has been reported that a child fell off the front deck of a pontoon recently as it was in operation on Lake Holiday. Fortunately, the child was not injured but DNR boating rules state that all passengers must be behind the gates and railings when the boat is in motion. Please be aware of this and other boating rules, including flotation devices on board for all passengers. Your cooperation is appreciated Painted Hills Security Members,
As you are aware, we are experiencing low lake levels do to lack of rain. This affects the ability to launch boats from the ramps. There have been recent incidents where boatersback their trailers beyond the end of the ramp. There is an 18 inch drop beyond the ramp and boat trailers will become lodged there. This is especially true when pontoons are being launched. In an effort to prevent this, Property manager, Jon Henninger has placed two buoys at the end of the Holiday ramp. It is advisable to have someone watch as you back down and do not allow trailer wheels to go beyond the buoys when launching or loading. There have been complaints of boats anchored or tied together in the main part of Lake Holiday during skiing and tubing hours (9:00am to ½ hr before sunset) around 9:15pm, with swimmers around the boatsIt is difficult to see swimmers in the main body of the lake. If you are going to have a tie-up, please do so in the idle areas. Thank you, Lakes and Security Committees Painted Hills Association Members,
Steve Hoffman, our new Security Officer wanted our members to be aware of the rash of break-ins that have occurred recently, in the Morgan, Brown & Bartholomew County area. At present, we are unaware of any break-ins in the Painted Hills Subdivision, but Steve thought the more eyes we have in the area, the better chance we have of protecting our property. Steve gave a description of two vehicles: A blue 2003 Chevy Cavalier and an older red Ford Ranger (rusted)with wooden slats in the truck bed but any suspicious vehicle should be reported. The thieves target times are between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. but we should be vigilant throughout the day. A female (early 20’s) apparently drives the neighborhood, drops off a male(early 30’s) who breaks in. If you see anything suspicious, please report to Security. If you see a crime being committed, call the Morgan Sheriff’s Dept immediately. Bud Lammers Painted Hills Security 342-9911 318-0598 (cell) Morgan County Sheriff 911 |
