As a heating and air contractor that was a good post. The only addition that I believe needs to be add is location and number of detectors. I recommend at least 2 detectors per house. 1 should be in a living area and 1 in the master bedroom. The common mistake most people make is placing them right next to the furnace. Most death come from cracked heat exchangers. The gas is then leaked into the sir stream and deposited throughout the house. I recommend those 2 locations as close to the supply vent as possible.
