The attached report from Aquatic Control suggests we continue to monitor Lake Holiday after the ‘pink algae’ issue that appeared earlier this Winter. They also did not think it necessary to do any treatment. Fishing and boating are safe and the ramp is now useable.

Vendors and Donations needed for the 2017 Painted Hills Annual Meeting
The committee for the 2017 Annual Meeting has met and is in the planning stages for this year’s event. The committee is in the process of soliciting vendors to participate in the annual meeting on Sept 30th They are also contacting local businesses for donations of door prizes to be awarded at the end of the business meeting. If you own a local business or work for a business that would like to get some “free advertisement” and would like to participate in this year’s meeting, ---please contact me for more details. The Painted Hills Board has been requested to review and recommend rental restrictions for the Painted Hills Homeowners Association.
In the next 2 days, you will receive a letter containing a copy of a proposed Amendment to the Painted Hills Covenants, a letter of explanation and a pre stamped ballot. The Amendment # 5.12 was presented at the request of members at the July 10, 2017 Board of Directors meeting. The proposal addresses the use of property in the Painted Hills Subdivision as rentals. This is an important issue to both home owners and lot owners as it may affect the value of your property.
We must have a 2/3 approval vote of the membership in order to approve this amendment to the covenants, so it is very important that you return the completed ballot.
Please read the material and return the enclosed pre stamped ballot to the Painted Hills office, either by mail or by dropping it off at the office at your earliest convenience but no later than September 29, 2017
For members who live in the Painted Hills Subdivision, a neighbor may come by your home to answer any questions you might have about Amendment #5.12
You may also contact a board member or email the Painted Hills office for clarification on any issues.
Many have expressed concern about the color and clarity of Lake Nebo this Spring. Lately, some waterfront members on Lake Nebo have sighted a brownish, growth on dock ladders, dock posts and tree branches in the water. It is smooth to the touch , much like the feel of a football. Do not be alarmed. These are actually beneficial to our lake water and should be left to do their work. They are called BRYZOANS, and cannot survive in polluted water, thus we know our water is in good condition.
Effective 9/25 the password will be changed for the Painted-Hills website.
The new password will be emailed to members from the office.
Unfortunately, the current password was published on a social media website. Certain pages of the website are locked because they contain financial information that is for the membership only. Please safeguard the password.

Please be advised, the Painted Hills Pool is closed at this time due to mechanical issues. It will reopen as soon as the repairs are made.

Painted Hills Pool Committee
Please be aware that on Sunday May 1, the lock will be changed on both Lake Holiday and Lake Nebo launch ramps. If you do not have a 2016 key, they are available at the Painted Hills office on Saturday from 9:00am until 1:00pm . The same key also fits the bathrooms on the lower level of the clubhouse, however,
Due to construction, the entrance is not accessible at this time. For those of you who are storing boats behind the dog park, the newly installed gate is locked and the new 2016 ramp key will fit it as well.
We hope everyone has a safe boating season.
I wanted to thank everyone that attended the annual soup cook off.
We had 11 delicious soups entered this year.
Dean and Erika Chapin were the winners with their Smoked Chicken Red Pepper Soup.
We raised $425.00 for the American Cancer Society.
Thank you to Judy and Bud Lammers, Dan Arnold and Heidi O'Brien for judging. They had a tough job this year.

Relay for Life.
At the March 2016 Board of Directors meeting, held March 14, our attorney , Rodric Bray, pointed out a conflict with the By-law section 3.05.3of the Painted Hills Rules and Regulations Handbook (requiring a quorum of 50% plus one of voting members) and Section 4 of the Painted Hills Association Covenants (requiring a simple majority of voting members present or by proxy). Rod encouraged the board to bring these two items in line.
At the May 9th Board of Directors meeting, the board will discuss and vote in order to bring By-law 3.05.3 in line with Section 4 Covenants.
The meeting will begin at 7:00PM at the Painted Hills Clubhouse, 4364 E Rembrandt Drive, Martinsville, IN 46151
The meeting was originally scheduled for April 14th Board meeting , however, it was changed to May 9th, in order to allow ample time for member notification.
Santa has come early this year!!!
One of the first things people see when they come into our subdivision are the street signs. Ours are quite old and have needed replacing for quite some time.
They are leaning, and are difficult to read.
In his spare time, Ed Brock, property manager for Painted Hills, has been working diligently to construct new road signs for the Painted Hills Subdivision. He was assisted by some new volunteers, Abby Fauber and Bryce Neely and some regular volunteers Rick Emminger and Bud Lammers in the painting
of the signs.
When you drive around the neighborhood to look at Christmas lights, take a look at the new signs. Quite an improvement. While all are not completed yet,
They all will eventually be replaced.
We would like to keep them in good repair and you can help by not using them to post personal information for directions, parties , etc.
Please use your own signs and place them in the ground, not on the new posts.
